While many of us are making preparations, decorating our homes, and planning Suhoor and Iftar meals, many of our Muslim brothers and sisters are preparing to fast the month without food for Suhoor or Iftar. As we know, the state of New York has been affected by COVID-19 significantly. The government is providing aid, but the local New York community has expressed concern about many vulnerable who have not been able to acquire this aid. Many of these people are from our own Muslim community and with the coming of Ramadan; it is especially concerning that these people don’t even have enough food for Suhoor or Iftar. NABIC, with the help of local volunteers, are distributing food packages to the needy.
