Bangladesh Projects

NABIC is currently funding numerous projects in Bangladesh and United States of America.

There are few other projects which although are not being funded by NABIC at this time are still in existence and benefiting our community members.

NABIC’s project focus is embodied in an acronym REACH and elaborated below:

  • R- Relief and Rehabilitation
  • E- Education
  • A- Alleviation of Poverty
  • C- Community building
  • H- Health care

Relief and Rehabilitation

NABIC not only strives to provide immediate relief from natural and manmade disasters, it also goes the extra mile to rehabilitate and provide livelihood training so that affected individuals are better equipped to take care of themselves and their families.

NABIC’s Rohingya Relief Project not only provides clean drinking water, tents, restroom, medical care, it also plans to provide basic education to Rohingya children.

NABIC is currently sponsoring children affected by the 2007 cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh. In addition, vocational training are being provided to adults affected by this disaster.

Education:

NABIC’s education programs range from providing primary education to children in remote villages to financing talented students in Bangladesh to compete in international competitions.

NABIC also provides scholarships to students in USA.

NABIC worked in collaboration with the Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) to create the Center for Ethics Education, which is designed to uplift the ethical and moral values of the people of Bangladesh.

Alleviation of poverty:

NABIC is active in alleviating poverty through funding a number of projects like micro credit, child sponsorship program in Bangladesh and food banks for the needy in USA.

Community building:

Loss of community in societies is considered by many a key cause of social disintegration and emergence of many harmful behaviors. Building community is a means to increase social justice, individual well-being and reduce negative impacts of otherwise disconnected individuals.

NABIC puts significant efforts to build communities through funding projects to extend shelter home for destitute and orphan girls, starting anti dowry project in Bangladesh and Udhyia programs both in Bangladesh and USA.

Health Care:

NABIC’s health care projects include free medical clinics in remote areas like village Chapur in Brahmanbaria, Karmirhath general hospital in Gaibadha and specialized Glaucoma Research and Eye Hospital in Dhaka.
To improve general health of the population, NABIC has been active in providing Arsenic free and clean waters in Chapai Nawabganj and Sathkhira respectively.
