Livelihood Workshop in Coastal Satkhira Equips Mothers of Sponsored Children with Sustainable Income-Generating Skills

GABURA, SHYAMNAGAR, SATKHIRA — To foster household economic self-reliance across climate-vulnerable coastal communities, a dedicated training program on modern goat rearing was successfully conducted for 25 underprivileged women and mothers of sponsored children in Gabura Union, Satkhira. The livelihood capacity-building workshop focused on equipping participants with practical livestock farming skills to develop sustainable, home-based sources of income.

Throughout the session, participants received hands-on instruction covering essential animal husbandry practices, including cost-effective feed preparation, hygienic shed maintenance, vaccination schedules, disease prevention, and proper care of newborn livestock. By enabling marginalized mothers to build viable micro-enterprises, this initiative aims to enhance long-term household financial stability, safeguard children’s educational and nutritional needs, and build economic resilience in remote coastal belts.
