NABIC Delivers Specialized Physiotherapy to 21 Children and 2 Stroke Patients in Gabura
Targeted Rehabilitation Camp in Coastal Satkhira Restores Mobility and Improves Quality of Life for Vulnerable Patients
GABURA, SHYAMNAGAR, SATKHIRA — As part of its continuous healthcare and rehabilitation interventions in disaster-vulnerable coastal belts, the North American Bangladeshi Islamic Community (NABIC) facilitated a specialized physiotherapy camp in Gabura Union, Satkhira. During the medical drive, expert physical therapists provided comprehensive rehabilitative sessions to 21 children facing physical and developmental mobility challenges, alongside therapeutic care for 2 recovering stroke patients.
In addition to individualized movement therapy, gait training, and muscle-strengthening exercises, therapists trained family caregivers on daily home-based exercises and postural care to sustain progress. Given the geographic isolation and lack of specialized clinical services in the Sundarbans coastal region, this initiative ensures vital long-term neuro-rehabilitation and physical therapy reach marginalized families free of cost, reducing disability and fostering greater functional independence.
