Ustadh AbdelRahman Murphy is an instructor at Qalam. He currently resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and two children. He teaches at the Qalam Seminary, leads a number of travel programs including a historical tour of Turkey and the Winter Umrah. He teaches Faith Intensive and you can listen to him on the Qalam Podcast in the Heartwork series.

Born and raised in Chicago, Ustadh AbdelRahman has Bachelor’s Degrees in Education and Religious Studies. He has pursued traditional Islamic studies at the Alimiyah level over the last decade with numerous teachers, primarily under the mentorship of Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda. He has been serving the community in a full-time capacity in various roles such as a youth director, Islamic Studies teacher, chaplain, and imam, as well as the Director of Roots Community Space.
