Imam Zakir Ahmed is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the International Islamic University Malaysia in the College of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences – Department of Quran and Sunnah. He serves as the resident scholar at Westchester Muslim Center and khaṭīb for several masājid across New York. He is the Founder and President of Rawdah Institute.
Imam Zakir holds an M.A. in Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations and a Graduate Certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy from Hartford Seminary and a B.A. in History and Education from Queens College. He completed the memorization of the Holy Quran under the tutelage of the renowned Qari, Shaykh Hassan Saleh, at the Muslim American Society of Queens.
