NABIC Provides Safe Housing to 40 Coastal Families in Gabura

GABURA, SATKHIRA — Under its Protecting the Vulnerable Children of Gabura (PVC) Project, the North American Bangladeshi Islamic Community (NABIC) provided direct housing assistance to vulnerable, climate-affected families in remote Gabura Union. The initiative funded the total construction of new semi-pucca disaster-resilient houses for homeless, widowed, or disabled-headed households, alongside the structural renovation of cyclone-damaged homes. By delivering stable tin roofing, reinforced walls, raised foundations, and concrete flooring, the program has successfully restored safety, dignity, and extreme-weather protection for coastal families and their children living along the climate-vulnerable Sundarbans belt.
