The DMNAPK charitable clinic is located in Gazipur. This clinic is extremely beneficial for the home and local community which is fully funded by NABIC. Started from 2013 the main objective of the charity clinic is to improve the health status of community members in the project area by providing quality health services and medicine to underprivileged people including mothers, children, adolescents, men and the elderly, through a part-time doctor and a part-time paramedic. From December 2014 this clinic has been providing services on both Fridays and Saturdays. Moreover, the project intends to offer a four-month medical training scheme for girls in Gazipur.
The following common health problems were found during the period November 2013-February 2015:
- Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI)
- Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI)
- Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD)
- Antenatal Care (ANC)
- Postnatal Care (PNC)
- Eye problems
- Ear problems
- Skin disease
Referral cases were sent to Gazipur Sadar Hospital, Uttara Hospital, ENT Foundation, Eye hospital, National TB Institute and Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
From November 2013 to October 2015, the total number of patients treated was 3,040. Among them 1,524 were poor (50.1%) and 1,516 non-poor (49.9%). With the generous contribution from our supporters in 2016 NABIC funded $15,000 for free medical treatment to the poor and needy people in nearby areas.
